Before I say anything, I would like to say "I love art and I love flowers".

Artist Biography

"I have a deep passion for art and flowers."

This simple statement encapsulates the essence of who I am as an artist.

Although my journey began in the field of science with a foundation in analytical chemistry and a Ph.D. in imaging technology, art has always been a quiet yet profound presence in my life. I started my career in the packaging industry and later transitioned into the field of art conservation. Yet, painting remained a constant passion that never faded.

Eventually, I returned to art with renewed intention and devotion. I studied on-glaze china painting under master artists in Thailand and expanded my knowledge through Western art literature and self-guided practice. My experience as a conservation scientist analyzing historical oil paintings deepened not only my technical understanding but also my emotional connection to the medium, ultimately inspiring me to pursue oil painting myself.

Today, I create original works in both oil and china painting, blending classical techniques with scientific insight to express the fragile beauty of nature. My signature subjects vibrant florals and still life compositions allow me to explore the harmony between structure and emotion, precision and spontaneity. Though the two mediums are distinctly different china painting requires fine, delicate layers and exacting control, while oil painting embraces expressive brushwork and rich textures. I find joy and fulfillment in balancing both. This dual practice challenges and inspires me, enriching my journey as both an artist and a scientist.

I am currently a conservation scientist at the Science Conservation Centre for Art, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, where I continue to merge scientific knowledge with creative exploration finding joy in painting as a part of my everyday life.

ประโยคสั้น ๆ นี้สะท้อนตัวตนของฉันในฐานะศิลปินได้อย่างแท้จริง

แม้ว่าการเดินทางของฉันจะเริ่มต้นจากสายวิทยาศาสตร์ด้วยพื้นฐานด้านเคมีวิเคราะห์ และปริญญาเอกด้านเทคโนโลยีทางภาพ แต่ศิลปะก็อยู่ในชีวิตของฉันอย่างเงียบงามและลึกซึ้งมาตลอด ฉันเริ่มทำงานในอุตสาหกรรมบรรจุภัณฑ์และผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านสีของบรรจุภัณฑ์ของบริษัทค้าปลีกยักษ์ใหญ่ของโลก ก่อนจะก้าวเข้าข้ามสายสู่สายงานอนุรักษ์ศิลปะ แม้เส้นทางอาชีพจะเปลี่ยนไป แต่ความรักในการวาดภาพไม่เคยเลือนหายไปจากใจเลย

ในที่สุด ฉันกลับมาสู่งานศิลปะด้วยความตั้งใจและความมุ่งมั่นมากกว่าเดิม ศึกษางานเพ้นท์ลงบนเคลือบพอร์ซเลน (on-glaze china painting) กับครูผู้เชี่ยวชาญในประเทศไทย พร้อมทั้งต่อยอดความรู้ผ่านตำราและการฝึกฝนด้วยตนเอง นอกเหนือนจากนั้นประสบการณ์ในฐานะนักวิทยาศาสตร์ด้านการอนุรักษ์ ที่ได้วิเคราะห์งานภาพเขียนสีน้ำมันโบราณ ทำให้ฉันเข้าใจทั้งโครงสร้าง เทคนิค และอยากเข้าใจความรู้สึกที่ศิลปินถ่ายทอด จนกลายเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้ฉันเริ่มต้นวาดภาพสีน้ำมันด้วยตัวเอง

ปัจจุบัน ฉันสร้างสรรค์ผลงานทั้งสีน้ำมันและงานเพ้นท์พอร์ซเลน โดยผสมผสานเทคนิคแบบดั้งเดิมกับมุมมองทางวิทยาศาสตร์ เพื่อถ่ายทอดความงามอ่อนโยนของธรรมชาติ งานที่ฉันหลงใหลมากที่สุดคือดอกไม้และภาพนิ่ง ซึ่งเปิดโอกาสให้ฉันได้สำรวจความกลมกลืนระหว่าง โครงสร้างกับอารมณ์ และ ความแม่นยำกับความพลิ้วไหว

แม้สองสื่อจะมีลักษณะแตกต่างกันอย่างชัดเจน งานพอร์ซเลนต้องอาศัยความละเอียดอ่อนและการวางสีหลายชั้นอย่างพิถีพิถัน ขณะที่สีน้ำมันเปิดโอกาสให้แปรงเคลื่อนไหวอย่างเป็นอิสระ แต่ฉันพบความสุขในความแตกต่างนั้น การได้ทำทั้งสองอย่างเติมเต็มและหล่อหลอมเส้นทางของฉัน ในฐานะศิลปินและนักวิทยาศาสตร์ไปพร้อมกัน

ปัจจุบัน ฉันทำงานเป็นนักวิทยาศาสตร์ด้านการอนุรักษ์ ที่ศูนย์วิทยาศาสตร์เพื่อการอนุรักษ์งานศิลปะ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่ที่ฉันได้ผสานองค์ความรู้ด้านวิทยาศาสตร์เข้ากับความรักในงานศิลปะ และยังคงการวาดภาพเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของชีวิตทุก ๆ วัน
