"I must have flowers, always, and always"

Claude Monet

Before I say anything, I would like to say "I love art and I love flowers".

Since primary school, I have had a passion for art. By high school, I intended to pursue an art degree, but my parents believed a science degree would offer a more secure future. I followed that path, earning a diploma in analytical chemistry and a Master's in imaging technology. My career began in packaging-related fields, but painting remained a beloved hobby.

Later, I returned to painting more seriously, studying acrylic techniques and learning from prominent china-painting artists in Thailand, including Angsana Klempin, Pattree Chuchinda, and Suppawan Duangsuwan. I further expanded my skills through self-learning and reading Western art books.

My professional experience in oil painting grew from analyzing famous oil paintings as a conservation scientist. I wanted to understand the techniques not just through science, but emotionally and artistically. This led me to study and practice oil painting, appreciating its texture, depth, and vividness.

Today, I create my own art through on-glaze china-painting and oil painting, combining knowledge from materials science with traditional techniques. My signature subjects are vibrant flowers and still life.

I found that oil painting can complement the feelings that come from China-painting very well. When painting tiles or porcelain, it is necessary to control the amount of oil to be as low as possible, but more enough to control the brush and paint properly, while the paint layers must be thin. This type of painting is not suitable for thick paintings because the paint may crack after firing. In contrast, the alla prima I like to do for my oil painting is thick, showing a clear brushstroke. Several times, I ask myself whether I should choose to do one type of work so that I can focus on practicing my skills. But my feeling is telling "no, please continue to do both at the same time. It is challenging to balance the two simultaneously.

Now, I dedicate my time to art analysis, publishing academic research, and creating original artworks especially colorful floral compositions and still life. I draw from old master techniques, vivid pigments, and my deep understanding of material science to inform and inspire my work.

"I love flowers and nature, so when I get a chance to paint, they are the first thing I paint and I enjoy them. Flowers have a certain power, and their emergence and blooming give me positive energy, but even when they wither away, they teach me the truth of life".
